This one is long overdue but better late than never! As you may know I love discovering new brands nobody is aware of yet. That's why, in this episode, we're going to look at a number of alternatives to the Paraboot Clusaz from smaller brands. The Paraboot Clusaz is the revisited low-cut version of its 1960s version. The boot which is made in France features goodyear stitching, leather lining and a natural rubber sole with the typical rounded toe. In my opinion the Paraboot Clusaz is one of the most appealing silhouettes but it also comes at a price of around 500€, a bit too much for my budget to be honest.

Pennon

Founded by two guys, one who knows shoemaking, and one who knows how to stir things up. The Pennon High Boots are low top hiking boots with a rugged semi-square rounded toe shape and oiled calf leather detail on the heel patch. Le Frattesi

The brand le Frattesi was born from the idea of two old friends, a craftsman whose family has been producing shoes in Fratte Rosa for 4 generations and a photographer with a degree in marketing who has been wearing those shoes basically since he was born. The founding element of this union was sharing an opinion. The Frattesi Bassa is a sturdy and reliable shoe and in my opinion a pretty good alternative to the Paraboot Clusaz. The suede lining makes it suitable for all temperatures and climates. The sole is the legendary Vibram Block Montagna made out of sturdy rubber to offer phenomenal grip associated with great durability. All that comes at a fair price of around 140 euros. Overall a great alternative at a fair price point.
